Hi,
we always use CopyRight2 from Sys-Manage for managing our migrations.
It does a pretty good job.
You can find it at:

Have a nice day.

File server migration tool question
31-Dec-09
Hi, I am about to copy a lot of shares from 3 old servers to a new 200
one
I am using FSMT which seems to be a great utility. I read a couple o
thread and find out how to use it
I opened the program, creare a new project and added a server
The strange starts now: in the source server I have about 100 shares bu
FSMT shows me only few of them
What's wrong? I tried each different source server, but the issue i
the same. It seems that FSMT can deal only with "root shares" but no
with nested ones. it is true? But, if it is so, how could I migrate
single nested share
Thank you in advance and happy new year to all

I concur. I have been using robocopy to do this since the year 0. it is
great - will copy security as well. robocopy /??? will give you all
the parameters.
Normally I use -
robocopy <source>\ <destination>\ /e /r:1 /w:1
you can also use /mir if you want to mirror/sync deletions on the
source w/those on the destination.

Robocopy is an excellent tool. There is also a GUI version. However, I am sure
you were already aware of it, Lanwench, and I usually opt to use the CLI
version. I just thought to provide an alternative if the poster is not
comfortable with the CLI version.

btw- OT - I have never asked a woman how old she is, however if you have used it
since day 0, I can now calculate your age based on the Earth's estimated
age, ... or is it the Universe's age since day 0? :-)
Just kidding! :-) I hope you had a nice New Years!
