Some of the biggest issues are DNS. The ADMT utility has to be able to
hit that computer name. Try to ping the FQDN "wsonxp01.test.com". If
you can ping it did you give rights to each domain local admin group?
Here is an example:

Add the Domain Admins from the Windows Server 2003 domain, to the local
Administrator's group in the NT 4.0 domain.

If you can't ping it make sure your primary and secondary domains are
setup correctly.

Hello Kvs,

Good to hear from you.

According to your logs, I found "access is denied". Such issue is usually
caused by the permission. Please check to make sure the following
requirements are met.

For an Interforest Migration:
ADMT requires the following permissions to run properly:
1. Administrator rights in the source domain.
2. Administrator rights on each computer that you migrate.
3. Administrator rights on each computer on which you translate security.
Before you migrate a Windows 2000-based domain to a Windows Server
2003-based domain, you must make some domain and security configurations.
Computer migration and security translation do not require any special
domain configuration. However, each computer you want to migrate must have
the administrative shares, C$ and ADMIN$.

The account you use to run ADMT must have enough permission to complete the
required tasks. The account must have permission to create computer
accounts in the target domain and organizational unit, and must be a member
of the local Administrators group on each computer to be migrated.

Refer to the following article for more information.

326480 How to Use Active Directory Migration Tool Version 2 to Migrate from
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326480

To be specific, the following settings are a good example.
1. Add win2k Domain Admin to Win2k3Dom Domain admins group and Win2k3Dom
built-in administrators.
2. Add Win2k3Dom Domain admins group to win2k Domain admins group and
built-in administrators group.
3. Assume the account TEST is the win2k domain account, add TEST to win2k
built-in administrators group and win2k Domain admins group. Therefore,
TEST account will have the full control permission to win2k domain every
clients and the DC, it also has the permission on Win2k3Dom DC.
4. Use TEST to logon to the Win2k3Dom DC to perform ADMT migration.

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to get
in touch!

Best regards,

Frances He
